Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail has announced that Pahang is offering 50 percent discount on monthly rental of premises owned by local authorities, for a period of four months starting from June 2021.
In a statement, Wan Rosdy said a total of 6,237 tenants, traders, and hawkers will benefit from the discount, in hopes of easing their financial burden during these difficult times.
He added, “for example, those paying the highest rental of RM 9,000 a month will only be required to pay RM 4,500, while the lowest monthly rental rate of RM 10 (hawker stalls) will only pay RM 5.”
Moreover, Wan Rosdy explained for the 50 percent discount, all local authorities in the state will forgo the monthly collection of RM 1.3 million or about RM 5.2 million for the next four months.
“This is a great sacrifice made by local authority, and it is hoped that it will be appreciated by the tenants.”
