Wedding ceremonies are allowed to be held at mosques and at Federal Territory Islamic Religious Department (JAWI) in Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya and Labuan as of today.
According to the Guidelines for the Implementation of Marriage Ceremony during PKP for marriage contracts in JAWI and mosques in the Federal Territory, only five people are allowed to attend namely the bride and groom, guardian, and two representatives from the bride.
This only applies to couples who have obtained Marriage Permission from JAWI and JAIN, and couples from other states who have obtained JAWI marriage permission and have been postponed before.
Only one photographer can attend and must comply to SOP, meanwhile the duration of the entire marriage ceremony must not exceed 20 minutes.
Another restriction is the bride and groom are not allowed to shake hands, including, all parties in the wedding ceremony with distance of at least one meter between each other.
The surrounding area of the ceremony space including toilets must be sanitized before and after ceremony is carried out, and only dowry and related documents are allowed in the ceremony space.
People involved in the marriage contract must also have no symptoms, no close contact with positive case of Covid-19, everyone is required to undergo a swab test first.
